Things never turn out the way you expect. This rule holds true, when a young man realizes, that his destination - the little town Kleinbroichenbach - doesn't really correspond to what he had in mind...
Having reached a nearby pub, he makes the aqauaintance of some interesting people, whom he would otherwise not have met: A friendly bar keeper, a talkative drinking partner (Martin Semmelrogge) and a biscuit tin that stirs even the most audacious men.
