It don't mean a thing, if it ain't got that swing (Irving Mills)

Well, you probably guessed it: I'm not the piano player in the video above. Nevertheless worthwhile to watch me play.
Starting out with recorder lessons at the age of 6, I soon changed to keyboard and then to classical piano. Later I got more interessed in other instruments and other music. After a Workshop at Haus Opherdicke near my hometown, I realized, that I'm probalby more talented as well as more interested in Jazz music then in classical piano. And so I soon enrolled in the Glen Buschmann Jazz Academy in Dortmund for 3 years and then I moved on to other projects and studies.

Today, I play in different formations as a Pianist, Trumpeter, Guitarrist or simply as "musician", as I am always interested in new styles and new instruments. Being intersted in both, film and music, and having always been curious about science, it was a sheer deliberate coincidence to get into filmmusic and sound design.

Last combos I've been playing in, are the Rhein-Ruhr Quartett with Erasmus Wegman (ts), Philipp Klahn (dr), Michael Klahn (b), the Essig Klahn Duo with only Michael Klahn (b) or the Ellen Fluijt Quintett with Gerd Maeda (gt) Ellen Fluijt (voc). Just recently I joined a Country band as a guitarrist with singer Ciska Jansen (voc), contrabassist Karl Tebbe (b) and percussionist Marjorie Bendeck (perc). As you see, anything is possible as long as the music sounds right.
